Hi 👋 I'm Anwen, the heart and hands behind Beansprout Studio. I make all of our work on the pottery wheel at my studio in Peregian Beach, on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. 

I make all of our ceramics from high-fired stoneware and finish them with a unique selection of handmade glazes. I design every piece with functionality and durability in mind, with the hope that they're used often and with love. 

I began working with clay as a creative and therapeutic outlet in 2020. Immediately, I fell in love with the creative process of ceramics; making functional objects with my own hands was incredibly rewarding and I was drawn to spend more and more time throwing clay. Beansprout Studio was born out of my desire to share my ceramics with others. 

When I'm not in the studio, I'm usually tending to our indoor plant nursery. I like to think that my love of the natural environment influences my work, whether that’s through my tonal glaze palette, the pot’s form, or my appreciation of clay as a natural material. I design every piece with functionality and durability in mind and one of my favourite things is hearing "it's my favourite mug and I use it every morning".
